Leidos adds software center to downtown Reston

Freshly moved to new headquarters, tech company and defense contractor Leidos strengthens its footprint at Reston.

The addition to 11929, market street is for an “agile software development factory and cyber operations training center,” the company told Reston Now.

“This continues our investment and growth in Reston County / Fairfax / VA and will bring additional high tech jobs to the area,” said Tom Doheny, director of strategic communications and media relations, in a written statement. .

Leidos says the move is intended to meet customer needs, develop products and services and serve as an annex to its recently completed headquarters at 1750 Presidents Street.

Inspections of buildings, electrical, plumbing and gas took place throughout July and August in the space for office improvement, which also involved a interior demolition permit that Fairfax County released on August 12.

“RTC’s commercial leases have always defied, and continue to defy, gravity,” Reston Town Center Association executive director Robert Goudie said in a statement. “It is a testament to, I think, the compelling proposition of live, work, visit that we work so hard to continually expand and improve. It’s a place leading companies want to be, and for good reason.

The Fortune 500 company moved into its new headquarters at 17Fifty, a 17-story office building, in March 2020 after previously occupying 11951 Freedom Drive, also in downtown Reston.
